I want to express my appreciation to all of you who have compared your older library of soundtracks against what we have secured and available on the site. There were two of you I want to personally thank for ferreting out several series we don’t have (though we wish we did), and discuss below.

Give a round of applause for the efforts of Sue Regan and Shawn Burdette; it is shared knowledge from brothers and sisters like them that help us know what and where to look. Now to follow-up on what they uncovered.

ProFormance Trax (blue and grey cover) from MorningGate Music
(not to be confused with PROformance Digital, one of our modern studio vendors)
This company vanished, taking with it about 80 titles. We can find no record of its sale or bankruptcy, so maybe someone’s estate will show up on our doorstep one day. Apart from that happening, these are gone.

Hi-Low Trax (red cover) from Benson Music
This record label was broken into choral and consumer products in a sale to Brentwood and Provident. Some of the track titles eventually appeared as PraiseHymn (a Provident product line) cassettes, but have since gone out-of-print. We are working on obtaining this line, which numbers 700 to 800 titles (I think), but it is slow going. Provident is presently owned by Sony.

Star Song Trax (aqua and silver cover) from Word Music
This label morphed into Word Entertainment, and the tracks became the Studio Series. Some of these have been released as digital burn-on-demand CDs, but the majority remain out-of-print, numbering 380+, which we are also working on. Word is presently owned by Warner.

Other studios that had soundtracks, which either went bust or just disappeared, include Lexicon Music and Light Records. We have little chance of ever turning up their products.

On the plus side, our two flagship labels, Christian World and Daywind Music, have digitally re-mastered and re-released through us EVERY cassette tape accompaniment track title that they ever produced. The presidents of these two companies took a big financial risk to accomplish this, and for their effort, you have access to 6878 titles right now. Not surprisingly, these are the only two major national labels that are still Christian owned and operated by their respective founders. What a blessing!

Okay, it’s time for a homework assignment for those of you who have been singing for a while… a long while. We need for you to reach into your library of accompaniment cassette tapes; yes, you read that right… cassette tapes. You see, we think we have every major series (i.e. Christian World Single Key [purple and green cover], Word Studio Tracks [silver cover], etc.) accounted for, though some will never be re-released due to licensing, distribution or other rights issues.

Nevertheless, if you have tapes from a label (studio) that we don’t have on the site right now, please

Comment to this post with the studio name and a description of the cover

We want to make sure that our breadth on Christian accompaniment music is the most complete on the planet, and if you who have been singing a while could help verify that, it would be fantastic!

Our customers replied to this request via our newsletter BUT this request is still valid and we’d love for you to post your comment here if you have any labels you’d like for us to research.
