Pull Out Those Tapes

Okay, it’s time for a homework assignment for those of you who have been singing for a while… a long while.  We need for you to reach into your library of accompaniment cassette tapes; yes, you read that right… cassette tapes.  You see, we think we have every major series (i.e. Christian World Single Key [purple and green cover], Word Studio Tracks [silver cover], etc.) accounted for, though some will never be re-released due to licensing, distribution or other rights issues.

Nevertheless, if you have tapes from a label (studio) that we don’t have on the site right now, please

Comment to this post with the studio name and a description of the cover

We want to make sure that our breadth on Christian accompaniment music is the most complete on the planet, and if you who have been singing a while could help verify that, it would be fantastic!

Our customers replied to this request via our newsletter BUT this request is still valid and we’d love for you to post your comment here if you have any labels you’d like for us to research. Read what they sent us and what we found out in the post Old Soundtrack Series Update.

I had wanted to buy some karokee music, but the songs are not what they say they are. why is that?

Christwill Staff (Valerie) September 30, 2009 at 9:29 am

Hi Denise,
I’ll be happy to help you find what you need. I’m not sure what you’re seeing. Can you give an example?

Has anyone made Vanessa Bell Armstrongs “Melody” = Nobody But Jesus, Jesus is Real and Peace Be Still. I would like to do the song but can’t find it anywhere. I see where you can make your own kareoke, but I would like you all to do it with the background vocals, is that possible. I am singing Oct 11

I’m looking for a track that I had on tape. I can’t find it on CD
Title: I will listen. Not sure who sang it.
First few lines:
Hard as it seems
Standing in dreams
Where is the dreamer now
Wonder if I
Wanted to try
Would I remember how
I don’t know the way to go from here
But I know that I have made my choice
And this is where I stand
Until He moves me on
And I will listen to His Voice.

After searching our system I am unable to locate that an accompaniment track has been created for Vanessa Bell Armstrong’s song titled “Vanessa’s Medley.” We have the ability to create CDs of accompaniment tracks that have been created by the various recording companies, we do not have the ability to create an accompaniment track of a song if a recording company has not previously created it.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help in locating this song.

Ms Reynolds,

After searching our system I found “I Will Listen” was recorded by Twila Paris. The accompaniment track for this song was available on cassette several years ago but appears to have never made the transition over to digital (CD.) Please keep checking our website as out-of-print titles are being added weekly and this title may show up one day.

Thanks
Steven

I’m looking for a Mastermix Soundtracks (Smith Music Group, Inc. from Manassas, Va) tape accompaniment of a medley with the two songs Mary Did You Know/What Child Is This, MM178. I have the cover and the box, but I lost the tape and I’ve never seen this arrangement anywhere else. Been looking for years for it.

Christwill Staff (Steven) December 1, 2009 at 11:25 am

I have searched through our systems and at this time we do not have access to Mastermix Soundtracks. I have also searched through our lyrics and have been unable to find any other song which is a medley of the two songs.

Sorry we couldn’t be of more help.

I am looking for the song “God Gave the Song” as sang by Sandi Patty. It was also part of the musical “Alleluia” back in the ’70s.

Can you locate this track for me?

Thanks
Tammy Kendall

Christwill Staff (Steven) January 8, 2010 at 9:00 am

Tammy,

I am not showing where an accompaniment track has ever been created for that song other than what would have been in the musicals complete accompaniment, which we do not have access to.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

I have a cassette tape that was made from an old reel-to-reel 35 years ago. It is an arrangement of “I’d Rather Have Jesus” and the accompaniment begins with a gorgeous Southern Gospel treatment that goes on for about 10-12 seconds before the soloist comes in. It was taken from some arrangement collection that was about the John Peterson time. This is not a Peterson arrangement, I’m pretty sure, but is so lovely I would like to find it again. The words vary a little also: I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold, I’d rather have Jesus than have riches untold. Can anyone help me?

Christwill Staff (Steven) May 7, 2010 at 10:16 am

We have several different versions of “I’d Rather Have Jesus” available on our site. These are the only ones we currently have access to.

I’ve been looking for OLD White Heart tracks to replace my cassette ones that have been ruined by age. Here are the two companies I found that did these:

Sparrow Trax1988 Word Music, a Division of Word, Inc.
The Sparrow Corporation
Chatsworth, CA 91311

Star Song Trax 1990 Star Song, a Division of Star Song Communications, Inc.
2325 Crestmoor, Nashville, TN 37215

Songs that I had were: How Many Times (Seventy Times Seven), Over Me, Eighth Wonder, Desert Rose, and A Love Calling. The most important one to me would be Over Me, since it is STILL my favorite song to do.

Thanks for any help you can give me! God bless and keep you! TK ^___^

I am looking for the cd of a song called “You’re In The Palm Of His Hand”. There are many songs with most of this titled but…. the lyrics are:
Are the burdens you carry to much for your poor heart to bear
And you can’t seem to find those fair weathered friend, who promised to always be there
well you don’t have to crumble beneath all the weight
The whole world is at God’s command
The stars and the planets He just hung out in space
But you’re in the palm of His hand

I appreciate any help finding this song….Cathie Colvin

Linda July 2, 2010 at 9:07 pm

Just found this page during a search.
I have the track that Dawn Reynolds, (Oct 2009) is looking for. It was released by Twila Paris and it is called “I Will Listen to His Voice”.
I, also, would love to have “God Gave the Song” on any format (cassette, CD, etc.)
I have been singing for many years and have hundreds of tracks. It would be great to have a place to “share” out of print songs!
I am also looking for accompaniment track for Sandi Pattys “Almighty God” in a format other than Studio Series.

I am looking for an accompaniment track that apparently isnt made anymore. I can’t even locate the song on google. I had the track on tape at one time, I think it is Mastertrax (purple and green cover) The song title is What does He have to do. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me if you know how to locate it.
Singcerely,
Laine

Christwill Staff (Steven) July 15, 2010 at 12:14 pm

I have searched our system and the title is in there, meaning it was available at some time but has since been removed. I am unable to pull any information regarding this, so finding it will be very difficult. Sorry that I can’t be of any help on this one.
