The Gift and Responsibility of Communicating Through a Song

by Christwill Staff (Joy) on November 18, 2009

We all know what it feels like to be touched by a song – to hear lyrics that meet us right where we are in life. Songs can encourage us or challenge us; they can make us cry or make us smile. As singers who are choosing to use our gifts to glorify the Lord, the impact of music is even more powerful.

Whereas other singers may just be sharing their voices & personal reflections through song, those of us involved in music ministries are accountable to more than just ourselves. read more…

Recent Visit to Daywind

by Christwill Staff (Valerie) on October 16, 2009

We’ve (Andrew and Valerie) just returned from a business trip to Nashville where God allowed us to solidify some great relationships in the interest of continuing to provide you with the widest Christian music catalog available.

One of our meetings was with the Dottie Leonard Miller and Ed Leonard at Daywind who our family has had a relationship with for two decades. While there, we were able to tour their facility in Hendersonville, Tennessee. It’s amazing to see the rows and rows of CDs all organized by number, ready to be dropped into boxes for shipment. We also viewed one of their sound-proof recording studios where many of the tracks you sing are produced.

We want you to know that the folks at Daywind are committed to providing you with the latest and best quality tracks and Christian Music possible and we appreciate their cooperation with us to make them available to you at Christwill Music.

Who would have thought that behind this small unassuming house there is a large warehouse and distribution center?

When New is Not New

by Christwill Staff (Valerie) on August 27, 2009

Many have commented that the “Top 20 Best Sellers” on the Christwill Music Website are not right.  They cite that those are not the same top sellers they see at other sources.  Well, our very savvy and observant customers are right!  Some of the titles in those lists were actually released decades ago.  I’m going to tell you why our top 20 list doesn’t look like the other guys’. read more…

Declarations of God’s Word from Christian World

by Christwill Staff (Andrew) on August 26, 2009

Declarations of God's Word by Christian World

I think we all agree that the Scripture is alive and powerful when spoken or sung. Scripture is filled with songs (psalms) and poetic praises.  I am so excited to tell you about this new product that my friend (and President of Christian World, Inc. [CWI]) Mark Stevens has produced.

As evidenced by CWI’s 3,206 accompaniment tracks, Mark has been firmly committed to spreading the gospel through song for almost 3 decades. The Lord put on Mark’s heart to develop this new Declarations of God’s Word series, so that when you can’t be there to witness or read or sing to a brother or sister in Christ who is in distress, you can give a truly meaningful gift. They in turn can listen to it, as well as read and reference all the scripture on the CD in the enclosed gift booklet. The three themes are:

Faith   Healing   My Identity In Christ

This can be a powerful gift of encouragement, at a very attractive price (especially with your discount when buying other music). When you look and listen to the three themes, perhaps the Lord will place on your heart someone who needs this gift.

Here’s one sample below; we ecourage you to come to the website to hear samples of all the tracks on each one.

Old Soundtrack Series Update

by Christwill Staff (Andrew) on August 19, 2009

I want to express my appreciation to all of you who have compared your older library of soundtracks against what we have secured and available on the site. There were two of you I want to personally thank for ferreting out several series we don’t have (though we wish we did), and discuss below.

Give a round of applause for the efforts of Sue Regan and Shawn Burdette; it is shared knowledge from brothers and sisters like them that help us know what and where to look. Now to follow-up on what they uncovered.

Pull Out Those Tapes

by Christwill Staff (Valerie) on August 12, 2009

Okay, it’s time for a homework assignment for those of you who have been singing for a while… a long while.  We need for you to reach into your library of accompaniment cassette tapes; yes, you read that right… cassette tapes.  You see, we think we have every major series (i.e. Christian World Single Key [purple and green cover], Word Studio Tracks [silver cover], etc.) accounted for, though some will never be re-released due to licensing, distribution or other rights issues.

Nevertheless, if you have tapes from a label (studio) that we don’t have on the site right now, please

Comment to this post with the studio name and a description of the cover

We want to make sure that our breadth on Christian accompaniment music is the most complete on the planet, and if you who have been singing a while could help verify that, it would be fantastic!

Our customers replied to this request via our newsletter BUT this request is still valid and we’d love for you to post your comment here if you have any labels you’d like for us to research. Read what they sent us and what we found out in the post Old Soundtrack Series Update.

Prayer Request for Steven

by Christwill Staff (Andrew) on August 12, 2009

As the Lord directs, we’re going to be asking the believers who read here to pray for a different Christwill Music team member each week, because even though life and this business is exciting, it can also be amazingly stressful.

And no one on the team catches more flack than Steven, (VP, Customer Service) who heads up all customer service and support, and mans a phone himself nearly all day and everyday that we’re in the office (Monday – Friday, 7am to 4pm MT).  He is the problem solver, policy enforcer, and customer situation handler.  He has access to and works with most every team member to head-off and/or resolve issues before/as they develop.  And sometimes, Christian folks don’t act very Christian on the phone (though most do).

So pray for Steven as the Lord brings him to your mind this week.
