Have you ever caught yourself staring at your closet trying to figure out what to wear for a concert, church service, or other event? This can be a very important decision and not always an easy one.
Here are some basic rules of thumb:
- Do not make a wardrobe decision that will be distracting to your audience.
- When singing for formal occasions, deeper, darker tones are usually more appropriate than flashy colors or busy prints.
- If in doubt, the more conservative choice is the way to go.
- Women, spend time on your appearance but be aware that excess makeup or “pageant hair” can be a distraction.
The bottom line is – Be professional but also be yourself & be comfortable. And most of all, be confident that the Lord will use your ministry to further His kingdom. And isn’t that our primary purpose anyway?
